Antonella Barba is hot! But the fact that she sucks at singing isn’t going to make her the next American Idol but I am quite sure this won’t be the last we see of her! 

“American Idol” viewers squashed the dreams of four more aspiring singers Thursday night, but Antonella Barba, the focus of recent attention over some racy Internet photos, was not one of them.

Alaina Alexander, Leslie Hunt, Nicholas Pedro and A.J. Tabaldo were voted off in the phone ballotting, which drew about 32 million calls and text messages. Sixteen hopefuls remain of the 24 who began the elimination rounds.

Perhaps the night’s biggest surprise was that 20-year-old Antonella Barba, of Point Pleasant, N.J., was staying. “I thought you were worse than last week,” Simon Cowell said Wednesday after her less-than-stellar cover of Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.”

Before going onstage, Antonella Barba told Ryan that she was a little less nervous than last week. Perhaps after the firestorm that the (perhaps doctored) photos have caused, singing before millions of people seems like a walk in the park. Unfortunately Barba’s attempt at Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” dedicated to her brother, was way too much for her vocally. The non-Paula judges weren’t impressed at all, though Randy did call her “drop-dead beautiful.”
