Disney’s “High School Musical 2” made historical record! Friday night’s debut of “HSM 2” on The Disney Channel drew an astounding 17.2 million viewers, making the program the most-watched basic cable telecast ever in history.
Current news ratings show kids and teens of all ages were tuned in to Friday’s premiere, earning “HSM 2” the record for the most-watched telecast of all time for kids in the 6-11 age group, and the 9-14 demographic.
High School Musical 2 has also became basic cable’s highest-rated movie ever, bumping TNT’s 2001 Western “Crossfire” from the record book.
