Carlize Theron & Stuart Townsend have declared themselves husband & wife although they never really got married officially. This is the story behind Theron & Townsend’s marriage.. Townsend tells People magazine, “I didn’t do a church wedding or anything, but we’re married. We’re husband and wife.
“We love each other and we want to spend our lives together. We didn’t have a ceremony, I don’t need a certificate or the state or the church to say otherwise. So no there’s no big official story on a wedding, but we are married. … I consider her my wife and she considers me her husband.”
In the Valley of Elah is a film by Paul Haggis. It is about a young model soldier goes AWOL after returning stateside from a tour of duty in Iraq. His father, Hank Deerfield (Tommy Lee Jones), himself a retired non-commissioned officer, goes in search of him. It soon becomes clear that his son was murdered and dismembered near a military base where he was temporarily reassigned, the chief suspects being four buddies with whom he served overseas. But In the Valley of Elah is not so much a whodunit as a whydunnit, an investigation of why a group of quite ordinary American soldiers would find themselves involved in such a brutal and essentially meaningless crime.
It is supposed to be gut-wrenching & thought-provoking. Opens today in selected cities.

People of Mexican/Puerto Rican heritage do this all the time. They refer to each other as husband & wife but are really just living together & even their kids have other different last names. So confusing! Why not make it legal & proper? Usually it’s becuz of tax issues, etc.
Oooooooh! James Franco showed at the premiere of …Elah! Now THAT’s a handsome young man!!
