Can you believe Rihanna moved to the US when she was merely 16 to pursue her music career? Must have been quite scary, you think? Ri Ri was born in St Michael, Barbados. Her father is of Barbadian and Irish descent, her mother is Afro-Guyanese.
Record producer Evan Rogers and his wife were vacationing in Barbados back in 2003 and some friends introduced Rihanna and her two bandmates to Evan. The young girls band auditioned for Rogers, who said that “the minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn’t exist.”
