Britney Spears sat down in a meeting yesterday at Merv Griffin Enterprises and may have landed herself a big role.  It is rumored that several options popped up for the star, with the biggest being the lead role of the Broadway version of Grease. 

Well, she is blonde, but can she act well enough to pull off the role of Sandy, the love lorn lead?

Olivia Newton John did it in the movie version to perfection.  That leaves a tall order for Britney, who is still technically in recovery mode from her apparent mental illness.   And what about the bad reviews for her recent sitcom work – aren’t the producers listening that critics and fans alike chime in that she can’t act?

Obviously, ability might not matter in this case.  The powers that be are probably banking on the fact that people will want to see Britney in her first ‘return’ to fame after her breakdown of sorts.  New Britney, new talent?  Let’s hope so!
