Well, surprise, Pete and Ashlee Wentz confirmed they are expecting yesterday. Is anyone shocked? I didn’t think so. After a whirlwind engagement, wedding and rumors of a baby bump all happening within a month, it’s no surprise at all.  Who did they think they were trying to kid??

One surprise out of the whole ordeal is Pete’s wedding gift to Ashlee.  He didn’t opt for jewelry, or a new car or even fancy clothes.  Nope.  Not for this classy guy.  He bought her Lego’s.

You read that right…Lego’s.  18,000 to be exact, in the shape of a bee.  Wentz commissioned Lego artist Nathan Sawaya to create a bee for the gift, which is said to be romantic.  I don’t see it that way….but, the artist confirms via E Online:

Why a bee? Because it is romantic of course. In Hindu myth, Kama, the god of love, has a bow and arrows, and the bow string is made up of bees. In the ancient Greek world the bee symbolized the soul because they migrated in swarms. And the Roman god of love, Cupid, is often pictured with bees or being stung.

Jewelry would have worked better if you ask me!
