Celebrities and Drug Use
Celebrities and drug use is probably more serious than it seems. US magazine has done a great piece on A-listers coming clean about their drug use in the past. Let’s start with George Clooney since he’s the hot item lately with his break up with ex-cocktail waitress ex-girlfriend, Sarah Larson. I like what he said at the end.. “this is going to be great! Then you’re just depressed!”

George Clooney, in 1997:
“I’ve slept with too many women, done too many drugs and been to too many parties. I loved acid when I was at college. It was an escape. I liked mushrooms. They were like easy acid. I did like blow…Blow would dress you up for a party, but never take you there. You’re always like, This is going to be great! Then you’re just depressed.”
Angelina Jolie, in 1998
“I hate heroin because I’ve been fascinated by it. I’m not immune, but I won’t do it now, at all.”

Drew Barrymore (who had gone through rehab twice by age 13), in 1996:
“My mind seemed to have a huge neon sign in it that blinked nonstop: COKE. GET COKE. So I did. It was great for dieting, partying and picking up my mood.”
Colin Farrell, in 2003:
“I ended up on a shrink’s couch, and he told me to write down how much I did in a week: 20 E’s, 4 grams of coke, six of speed, half an ounce of hash, three bottles of Jack Daniel’s, 12 bottles of red wine, 60 pints.”
Brad Pitt, in 2006:
“If someone wants to do drugs…as long as he or she isn’t corrupting minors or driving under the influence or endangering others, shouldn’t a person have that right?”
These are the ones that are alive and kicking talking about drugs – there are so many that have passed away because of drug overdose.
So the morale of the story: STAY AWAY FROM DURGS. Do I sound like a mother, darn! Yes I am one.

I would not get on my high horse and say I expected better from our prominent celebrity stars. Who am I to judge?. The one thing that I think we all shoud be decent enough to do, is give ALL drug addicts the attention they deserve, not just the Hollywood Stars.
I recently had a chat with with a staff member from Mountainside Treatment Center and I am glad I made the effort to establish ties with them. If you take it from me most of these so called drug rehabs are poorly prepared to deal with the demands of many drug addicts. As a result of this, we have hundreds of stars and normal people waking in and out of these clinics only to walk right back in again!!!
The addict is not strong enough to fight his battle and if the rehab is not equipped to help, then when will the addiction stop?. Only Mountainside Treatment Center has made an impressive and envied contribution to drug rehabilitation and I am almost sure that if they had treated most of these stars, it would be a one time event, not a repeated situation!
