The iconic figure in the fashion world, Yves Saint Laurent, has passed away.  The designer was 71 years old and had been battling brain cancer for about a year.  In recent weeks, he was very ill and has been in and out of the hospital. 

Yves became a fashion staple when he took over designing with Christian Dior’s sudden passing in 1957.  He has since become a household name in clothing, as well as a stylist for the celebrities. Even through his illness, he had a hand in designing what his name went on.  He tried to manage the business end of things with his partner until a few months ago.  RIP.
