Charlize Theron Biography
Biography: Charlize Theron: born August 7, 1975; height: 5 ft 9 1/2 (177 cm); Zodiac Sign: Leo. Charlize is a South African actress. Theron grew up on her parents’ farm in Benoni, near Johannesburg and her mother tongue is Afrikaans although she’s fluent in English.
Charlize made history by becoming the first South African to win an Oscar in 2004. Her portrayal as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster which won her an Academy Award for Best Actress.
Theron was born in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. Growing up her father was an alcoholic and he was shot by Theron’s mother when she was 21. He physically attacked her mother and threatened both the mother and Charlize while he was drunk. The mother did not face any charges as the shooting was legally adjudged to have been self-defence.
Theron dated long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend for nearly ten years, the two had openly said they considered each other husband and wife without any need of ceremony. Their relationship ended in January, 2010.
