Jennifer Hudson will sing at the Democratic National Convention at the request of Barack Obama. The former idol contestant and Oscar winner will be performing the National Anthem this Thursday night in Denver when Obama formally accepts the party’s nomination.

This is quite a honor for anyone I must say. Besides her to be appearance at the Democratic convention. Jennifer will be releasing her debut album, “Jennifer Hudson,” on Sept. 30. As for her acting career, she has a new film scheduled to be released on October 17th: “The Secret Life of Bees,” in which Hudson stars opposite Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Dakota Fanning.
