Hayden Panettiere’s dad, Alan Panettiere was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly hitting his wife, Hayden’s mom, Leslie Panettiere. Sgt. Wolf told People magazine as reports by Fox News:

“There was a domestic argument between the mother and father. He got upset and struck the mother in the face one or two times on the left cheek which caused some bruising. From what I’m told, he hit her with a closed fist.

“The mother called police shortly before 3 a.m., and Mr. Panettiere was taken into custody,” Wolf added. “He’s been cooperative. Earlier, they were at a party and the husband apparently felt disrespected by his

Wolf told People that Alan Panettiere, 49, was arrested on the felony charge instead of a misdemeanor because “there were visible signs of injury” on 52-year-old Lesley Vogel’s face.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that both Alan Panettiere and Lesley Vogel had been drinking prior to the alleged incident, and that Alan Panettiere told cops when they arrived, “I’m Alan. Yeah, I just got into an argument with my drunk wife.”

On Sunday evening, Hayden hosted a benefit for the Whaleman Foundation at Eva Longoria’s Beso restaurant in Hollywood, also attended by her parents.

Hayden’s car, driven by boyfriend and “Heroes” co-star Milo Ventimiglia, ran over a photographer’s foot outside Beso, according to TMZ.

Alan was booked at 4:00 a.m. at a West Hollywood police station. Bail was set at $50,000.  Alan was released at around 1:30 p.m. He has a hearing scheduled for October 11 in Beverly Hills, CA.
