Batman 3, aka The Dark Knight, is still in theaters, but people are already talking about the NEXT one.  And it seems the rumor can’t be separated from the facts.  At least when it comes to the co-stars of the next flick…

Philip Seymour Hoffman has been dubbed to be the next Penguin in the Batman franchise.  By the media, anyway.  he says no one has talked to him yet, even though Michael Cain says that both he AND Johnny Depp will portray villains next time, according to Pajiba. 

Johnny Depp also echoed similar sentiments last week, when the Internet was rife with stories he was playing the Riddler.  He says no one has talked to him or his people, but he would love to play the role.  So, what is going on here?  Why does Michael Cain, who IS in the movie, think they will be his co-stars, when they haven’t even been asked yet?  Coverup?  Wishful thinking?
