Helen Mirren has come out with a bomb, claiming she was date raped several times when she was younger.   She was interviewed and goes on to reveal some suprising thoughts on the matter, many of which are controversial.  Don’t read if you feel very strong on the subject…

Helen did a interview for GQ Magazine, and via The Telegraph, she discusses it publicly.  This is what she said:

“Asked if she reported the incidents to the police, she told GQ magazine: “No, you couldn’t do that in those days.

It’s such a tricky area, isn’t it? Especially if there is no violence. I mean, look at Mike Tyson. I don’t think he was a rapist.”

Yowza!  Mike Tyson is happy.  Authorities aren’t.  Women advocates aren’t.  But, it was in the past and Helen is right, times were different then.  It’s just too bad it happened in the first place.
