Natalie Portman won the ‘Movie for Humanity’ Award over the weekend while in Venice. She was attending the Venice Film Festival and attended the ceremony. It was the first of its kind and is planning to continue again every year.
More pictures after the break…
Natalie won a plaque and $50,000, which she donated to a charity right away. What a cool chick! Her money went to the Jane Goodall Institute in Tanzania, according to E! Online. To be considered, stars must be actively involved in social programs or reform causes to be nominated. Natalie is both an environmentalist and a social activist. She is very worthy of the award.
She was in Venice because her first shot at directing a movie is being screened. It is called ‘Eve’.
