Russell Brand hosted the MTV Awards and managed to make everyone uncomfortable at one point. Was that MTV’s interpretation of Mayhem? Have a crazy haired foreigner to host a largely US based show? IF so, then it worked on that account…all the others didn’t…

Russell made fun of virgins, the Jonas Brothers, Madonna, President Bush and everyone he could possibly take a swipe at. While you may or may not agree with president Bush and his policies, what right does a British comedian have to come in TO THE US, call OUR President a retarded cowboy? None. What would happen if Adam Sandler went to the UK and called Queen Elizabeth a retard? He’d be escorted out of the country ASAP.
Why did MYV pick Brand? Was it his shock value or his shokingly bad taste? His presence made the awards tense and uncomfortable…hopefully they can do better next year with choosing a host. They can’t get any worse…

Offends everyone? He made me laugh! Anyone in the public eye is a target for parody, and the Jonas Brothers are especially entertaining. I hate to break the news, but Russell isn’t the first to mock president Bush, over here in britain he’s still a bit of a running joke…
