It’s officially Britney Spears sex tape-watch 2008! Giddy up! Although we’ve been told conflicting stories the past couple of days—one vote for yay, another for nay—the momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing. So let’s fan the flames for a bit. Today a report surfaced that Britney is interested in “parting with as much money as it takes” to keep the video out of the public eye. A “pal” said:

“Her lawyers have been working overtime. They’ve been told to do whatever it takes to stop the video making it onto the Internet.”

As we all know, when the tape was made (I actually believe it was) Britney was spiraling into a pretty intense drug and alcohol-induced depression. And now that she’s slimmed down, grown her hair out, and learned to be a little more, um, discreet with her personal life, she doesn’t want Adnan screwing it all up again. Completely understandable. Stay tuned. We’ll likely have many more “pals” “friends” “sources” and the like to quote in the coming days.
