Eva has two sisters and a brother, she’s the youngest of the four siblings. As a child, Mendes never thought of herself as an actress. She attended California State University, Northridge to study marketing but dropped out after meeting her then boyfriend, Zedrick Threatt who helped her began her acting career.

Eva started her career doing commercials and music videos. Her first big-screen break came when she starred in the award-winning movie, Training Dog opposite Denzel Washington. Besides, movies, Eva has done a lot of fairly racy photo shoots including posing for Maxim magazine, Flaunt and appearing topless for Vogue Italy in May 2008.

Mendes was voted as No. 4 in the 2008 edition of AskMen.com’s Top 99 Most Desirable Women. Mendes said she had to booze up doing love scene with Joaquin Phoenix in We Own the night. I guess it’s easier for her to do the racy photo shoots then making out in love scenes.
