Michael Phelps was paid $100,000 to swim a few laps at a Los Angeles pool party. Yes, you read that correctly, gentle reader. Page Six reported today that Michael Phelps earned a six-figure sum to lap the pool of the wife of some T.V. network chief during her pool party.

Meanwhile, a bunch of overpaid Hollyweird T.V. people filled their plates with shrimp and clicked champagne glasses. Meanwhile, Wall Street collapses and thousands lose their jobs. Sigh.
Let’s hope he hopped out, dried off, and gave those desperate housewives something to talk about the next day.
It’s the least he could do.
