Palin’s family moved to Alaska when she was a baby. From there she transferred to the University of Idaho and stayed there for two semesters as well. During this time Palin won the Miss Wasilla Pageant. Then she finished third in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant at which she won a college scholarship and the “Miss Congeniality” award. She then attended Matanuska-Susitna community college in Alaska for one single term. The next year she returned back to the University of Idaho where she spent another three semesters and graduated in 1987 with a  Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism.

Did you know that Sarah Palin is a distant cousin of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Princess Diana? Far out! In 1988, Sarah eloped with Todd Palin, her childhood sweetheart apparently because her parents “couldn’t afford a big white wedding.” They have five children together: 2 sons and 3 daughter.  Palin describes herself as a hockey mom.

What’s a hockey mom anyway?  Oh, is it one of those moms that pull their pants up to their boobies and drive a family van?
