Word on the street has spread like wildfire that Lindsay Lohan was a sloppy, out of control diva on the set of Ugly Betty, but was her firing actually due to America Ferrera’s jealousy? A source recently told Us Weekly that “America couldn’t handle Lindsay stealing her thunder” and got her contract shortened because of it.

This source (aka, a LiLo friend, no doubt) also counters that Lindsay’s now notoriously smoky and dirty dressing room was used by the Fox cast Fringe and they should man up and take some of the blame. Oh, and this entourage? That’s a myth. Lindsay travels lightly. All she had with her was a sober companion (sober companion?!?!), Samantha Ronson, her manager, assistant, and publicist. Hm. That seems a bit excessive for just a few guest spots, but it’s not like it was a bunch of Hollyweird celubutards or anything. At least they’re all on the payroll.
I’m particularly crummy at blurring fact and fiction when it comes to elaborate costuming, and for some reason I just can’t imagine Betty Suarez being catty. She lives in Queens with her family for goddsakes! She wears a poncho! Diva and Betty Suarez just don’t happen, and unfortunately skanky Lohan family fun facts are forever seared in my memory. And believe me, I wish they weren’t.
