Paris Hilton told Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show that she and Benji Madden are simply “taking a break.” On Wednesday her rep released the statement confirming she and Benji were calling it a day. Nobody was surprised—long-term monogamy just doesn’t seem to be in Paris Hilton’s blood. God bless her. However, know she’s leaving it fuzzy saying they are still very much in love but just working too much. Uh huh. She told Ryan Seacrest:

“Right now, we’re just taking a break. We’re really good friends. We’re very close. He’s such an amazing man. He’s my best friend. He’s been so great to me, so loyal. He is an incredible person, and we will always be really close. We’ll see what happens in the future…I’m still in love with him. We’re both working so much. I’ve been traveling, he’s been working nonstop in the studio with his brother on their new record.
She also said the whole hooking up with Stavros rumor is “ridiculous” (heh) and that Benji isn’t controlling—just a “protective man in love.”
Sigh. Get a dog, Paris.
