Britney Spears bombed on England’s X-Factor Saturday night. While critics were quick to point out she did better than last September’s disastrous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney was criticised for lip synching (on a show geared toward live performance!) and dancing that looked ripped off a 101 class at the senior center. Sigh. Brit Brit just can’t get it together.

One enraged viewer wrote on the show’s messageboard:
“All the contestants are better than her. She wasn’t even trying to sing.” via Times Online
Of course the show’s team has gone into major damage control saying she was “brilliant” (HA!) and they were “delighted” to have her and blah blah blah.
Regardless, the show’s ratings skyrocketed. Amazing. Britney Spears has officially entered the famous for being famous realm. Hell, Paris Hilton is more relevant than her these days, she’s about on par with Kim Kardashian as far as talent goes. Christ, that’s sad.
It’s a pretty brilliant equation, though. Bust your butt as a kid and con the world out of millions, get married a few times, enter rehab, shave your head, and then give back by feeding a bunch of frustrated writers with your trainwreck antics. Thanks Brit Brit!
