Katy Perry’s I kissed the Girl nominated for best female pop performance for the Grammy Awards. Asked whether Perry could believe she’d been nominated by Ryan Seacrest, she replied: “Not really, it’s the Grammys. It’s kind of like this, like, super high-class club that they gave me a ticket into.”

Also garnering a piece were the Jonas Brothers. Kerry and the Jonas Brothers were pretty obvious to me but there are some big names that are surprisingly left out of the Grammy nominations. That include Taylor Swift from the song categories, Pink from the album categories, as well as Leona Lewis, and Mariah Carey.  Entertainment Weekly lists a whole bunch more, too.  What were they thinking this year when the panelists voted?

The biggest haul of nominations is by Lil’ Wayne.  Huh?  I’ve never even listened to one of his songs.

Katy had a banner year, became a household name because she kissed girls!
