Britney Spears is on the shortlist to star in the Sex and the City Movie Sequel. Britney has been making a comeback this year and a great movie role would only help her in that process!  But what kind of role could she play and seriously, how did her name come up?

It seems that Sarah Jessica Parker is a fan of Britney’s.  According to MTV sites, she is the major proponent for getting the songstress linked to the next movie:

It is reported that Sarah Jessica Parker is keen to cast Britney Spears in the next Sex And The City movie.

The SATC actress thinks the Womanizer singer would be perfect in the eagerly anticipated sequel to last year’s hit film, says Heat magazine.

It seems Britney who made her cameo on US TV show How I Met Your Mother last year would play a young relative of SJP’s character Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica told friends: “My idea is to have someone like Britney Spears move to New York as my cousin or niece and Carrie would show her the ropes.”

I’ve been noodling the idea around, but I just can’t see Britney in the role.  Can you?  I mean, Jennifer Hudson did a fine job in the first movie, but she’s been heavily awarded for her acting abilities.  Britney has not.  Do you think Britney in the SATC sequel is a good idea?
