Jennifer Aniston is slated to present at the Oscars, where both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are presenters. As Star magazine reports, Jennifer hopes to “steal Brangelina‘s thunder” by bringing John Mayer and showing off her new engagement ring. The source says Jennifer presenting is very strategic seeing as she’ll have the top movie out, He’s Just Not That Into You, and she needs to show the world she doesn’t care about Brad and Angelina.

According to a source from Star, John Mayer said:
“You’ve got to go,” John told Jen. “Why do you hide in this town? You have every reason to be there. By presenting at the Oscars, you’ll tell the world: ‘I don’t care about Brad and Angie. I belong here, too.’ Jen is taking back ownership of her life. She’s gotta move on from this Brad and Angie thing. This is the perfect time, and I’ll be there to protect her.”
Although this is a ridiculous news story, it’s interesting to wonder if Jennifer and John really do sit around and talk about “Brangelina” and “hiding in this town.” It sounds like a third-rate soap opera.
We just hope Jennifer Aniston breaks away from her usual neautral Oscar gown and goes a bit more bold.
