Producers for the Broadway show Speed-The-Plow don’t buy that Jeremy Piven dropped out because of mercury levels. They’ve filed for grievance with The Actors’ Equity. No scandalous details have been revealed as to why they don’t believe the claim but several physicians have publicly backed up Jeremy’s claim.

In the past, producers have filed grievance with The Actors’ Equity when they feel something has been violated in a contract. For instance, producers could argue he wasn’t being 100% honest about his medical claims. Jeremy Piven’s spokesperson had this to say:
The claims made by the producers of Speed-the-Plow are absurd and outrageous… He withdrew from the play due to medical necessity on the advice of his doctors, after he was hospitalized and warned by his physicians that enforced rest was necessary in order to avoid serious medical problems, including a heart attack.”
Wow. Do you buy that it was high mercury levels?
