Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at the VH1′s 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards last night; It took home the Best Picture Award. The film won a total of five awards out of six nominations. Sean Penn won Best Actor Award for Milk.

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep tied in the Best Actress Award, with Hathaway winning for Rachel Getting Married and Streep for Doubt.
The late Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. The film’s director Christopher Nolan accepted the award on behalf of Ledger. The film itself won The Best Action Award. It was quite an emotional moment as expected.
