Cate Blanchett wins the role that was vacated by Sienna Miller in the Nottingham movie. The speculation wasn’t that Sienna left the movie because of scheduling conflicts – come on, what work is she really doing right now besides Balthazar Getty?  But she was actually fired.

Sienna is still in an off again, on again relationship to the married, father of four Balthazar.  Some say her ways and her ‘diva’ is what got her kicked off the movie.  The role was then turned over to Cate Blanchett…who is very easy to work with.  From the Telegraph:

“I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part,” says Mark Strong, who has already been signed up to play Sir Guy of Gisbourne, at the London Film Critics’ Circle Awards, at the Grosvenor House hotel, in Park Lane. “She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it.”

Ouch.  Is there another verbal war brewing between stars this week?  Last week we had Dunaway vs Duff and James vs Knowles.  Who do you think would play a better Maid Marian – Sienna or Cate?
