Gwyneth Paltrow Defends Goop
Gwyneth Paltrow’s weekly newsletter GOOP has received some negative criticism. Gwyneth, however, disputes all the naysaying, insisting those who don’t like GOOP.com just don’t “get it.” A recent New York Times article addressed a lot of the negativity, adding the newsletter appears to be “fatuous and a bit puzzling.” What? They don’t think hoity toity spending habits and expensive organic cooking has a place in the recession?

Gwyneth responded to People saying:
“I think the people who are criticizing it or criticizing the idea of it, don’t really get it, because if they did, they would like it. I think that people like people to stay in their ‘box’ – they like people to stay how they are comfortable seeing them.”
We think GOOP, which preaches about Kabbalah, the Master Cleanse and getting reservations at expensive New York City restaurants, is a silly vanity project, but Gwynnie has full right to produce it. Would you expect a New York City blueblood to be in touch with the middle class? Consider the source. This is a woman who has time to work out for three hours everyday for Godsakes.
Enough said.
