MIchelle Obama will grace the March 2009 cover of Vogue. While the magazine has featured every first lady since Lou Hoover (with the exception of Bess Truman), Michelle and Hilary Clinton are the only two first ladies to date who have scored covers. Michelle chose a pink Jason Wu sheath dress, the same designer as her one strapped white Inaugural gown.

The magazine’s editor at large, Andre Leon Talley, interviews Michelle and according to Newsday was blown away by how “natural, normal and accessible” she was. The two gabbed about all sorts of things, but also kept a loose focus on fashion since Michelle is so scrutinized by the press.

Michelle, who chose her own outfits for the photo shoot, said this about clothing:

I’m not going to pretend that I don’t care about it,” she said. “But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear – people just have different tastes.”

Do you think Michelle has good taste in clothes?
