Stephen King has taken on the author or the Twilight series, Stephenie Meyer. In fact, he’s liable to start a riot with his words against the author. Stephen decided to stick his neck out in an interview this weekend and generate some PR for himself, I’m sure, in the process. Does he have a new book out too?

There was a big awards ceremony for outstanding achievement by writers or something. Per Access Hollywood, Stephen said this before going in:
Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people… The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”

While Stephen may not be a fan of Stephenie’s writing, he understands the appeal of the series.
“People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because it’s not overtly sexual.”
Welllll. Is he jealous or justified? And if millions of these books are flying off the shelves, who is he to say Stephanie can’t write worth a darn? If her writing stunk, those books never would have sold.

Stephanie Myer can’t write for anything. In all honesty, as embarrassing as it is that out there, in a Chapters store, you’ll find the book Twilight, it DOES appeal. Appeal to who? Teenage freak show, or lustful and tasteless people? Sure. The book is easy to read, I mean, maybe for an elementary school student.
- I counted multiple grammar mistakes within her book.
- The plot is horrible. Let me simplify it for you:
“you are vampire”
“is ok I love you even though you are vampire.”
“you’re pretty hot.”
“you’re pretty hot.”
The end. There is Twilight folks; as retarded as the person who wrote it. But to each their own, right? As far as quality goes, it stunk, but even retards and highschool wigger vampire girls need something to entertain them.

Geee I guess stephen kings early novels were all ‘the great american novel’ right? King himself said Carrie was not nearly as good as his later stuff. Novelists (like anybody else) grow in their work. Yes he is entitled to say she is not very good but he should be generous enough to say “neither was I in the beginning, time will tell, maybe after a few more years she will get better, God knows I did.” People in glass houses Steve. You know your mother told you that huh? Have you forgotten?
