Ashlee Simpson Wentz has signed on to star in the Melrose Place remake. Ugh.  Is anyone going to really watch this show?  90210 didn’t take off as well as had hoped, why are they doing it to Melrose Place?  Can’t find any good, NEW shows?

No other big names have officially begun the show, but several have supposedly been in talks to come back.  Namely, Heather Locklear who supposedly has he golden touch with TV.  Whatever.  They got a bunch of no names with the old stars on 90210 and it isn’t going anywhere.  Why do they think Melrose will be any better?  From Yahoo! Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is moving to Melrose Place.

The 24-year-old singer will join the cast of the CW’s “Melrose Place,”

Simpson-Wentz will be playing a small-town girl with a “shrewd sex kitten” within, Entertainment Weekly first reported on Monday.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Melrose Place and I look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents.”

Was she even old enough to remember the original series?  I don’t think so, unless papa Joe let her and Jessica stay up late and watch the sexy show as kids!
