Chris Brown withdrew his name from the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. It is probably the best thing he has done in a month! Chris was up for two awards that are voted on by the kids through the Internet. And Nickelodeon didn’t have the balls to take his name off.
More pictures after the smarting up…
It seems Chris finally manned up and did something right. The only thing right, lately. He withdrew from winning the Favorite Song and Favorite Male Singer categories since Nickelodeon wouldn’t kick him out. E! Online says:
A day after Nickelodeon refused to bow to growing public pressure and remove the felonies-facing artist from its list of nominees, Brown himself has withdrawn his name from consideration for his dual slimey honors.
“Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song,” his spokesman said.
“Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.”
It’s about time. Kellogg’s sent a message to Michael Phelps when they dropped him cold turkey after getting busted with pot. Why wouldn’t Nickelodeon do the same for their kid audience? I guess they like controversy, teen pregnancies – see Jamie Lynn Spears and women beaters.
