Madonna’s adoption is highly controversial in Malawi and now it is postponed. Madonna landed in the African country with Lourdes and is adopting a girl named Mercy. Or she was planning on it, except the adoption was delayed until Friday by the courts. Mercy’s grandparents and even adoption officials are glad, because they have been voicing criticism of Madonna and her actions.

Madonna has three year old David from Malawi and that was controversial too. Now she is divorced and getting one more. Is she in competition with Angelina Jolie? From People Magazine:
On Monday morning the star is scheduled to appear before a high court judge to process her second adoption. When a bystander asked, “Are you adopting another kid from Malawi?” she replied, “I don’t know.”
But courts records show she plans to adopt 3-year-old Mercy James, whose single teenage mother died at age 18.

The 50-year-old pop star spent about an hour in court Monday in the Malawi capital of Lilongwe. Court official Thomson Ligowe confirmed that Madonna’s adoption application was adjourned until Friday but said he could not reveal any more details.
Monday’s court docket listed only the child’s name — Chifundo James, which means “Mercy” in a local language. It was not immediately known whether any of the girl’s relatives were present at the courthouse Monday.
So, it’s obvious Madonna wants to adopt, but do you agree with it?
