Taye Diggs is going to be a father. Taye Diggs and his wife, Idina Menzel, are expecting their first child together later this year. Taye and Idina have been married since 2003, but put off having children due to both of their hectic schedules. Idina is a Tony-award winning actress (for her role in Wicked) and records her own albums. Taye has a starring role on Private Practice with Kate Walsh.

As Usmagazine.com reports, in several interviews the two have hinted that children are absolutely on the horizon.

“It’s definitely in the plans,” she told Us. “I’ll settle down and start popping out some babies…She said Diggs has been ready for kids since “the day I met him. He wouldn’t talk about marriage, but he’d talk about me having his children. He’s always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he’s very comfortable around children.”
