Whitney Port splits with Jay Lyon. The reality show couple who wants us to really think they are a couple have announced they split up.  Or did they?  It might be a ploy to get some interest and ratings for The City season finale.

Who knows if Whitney and Jay are really an item.  The reality show which isn’t reality had them hook up.  But maybe they are like Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt...real on screen and off.  Ha!  From US Magazine:

Whitney Port has split from her Australian musician boyfriend Jay Lyon, Usmagazine.com confirms exclusively.

The couple, who met on the MTV show The Hills, and then continued their relationship in New York on The City, have decided to part ways after less than a year together.

The City creator and executive producer Adam Divello exclusively confirms to Us, “Whitney and Jay are broken up as of The City season finale. There were a few factors in their relationship that led to their split and fans saw those play out on-air. As we pick up where we left off when the show returns later this year, viewers will see what unfolds as we continue to tell Whitney’s story.”

Do you watch this show?  Do you believe they were a couple to begin with?  I don’t buy it…
