Amy Winehouse is trying to adopt a St. Lucian child. Doesn’t Amy know you can go to a gift store and buy a souvenir?  She doesn’t need to take a child back home to London to show off as a trinket.

Amy has been spending lots of time in St. Lucia and is actually looking – and acting – normal again.  This is great news for her and her career!  But now she wants to add a child to her family since the devastating news that her estranged Blake Civil Fielder is having one with another woman!  From The Daily Mail:

Amy Winehouse is planning to adopt a St Lucian child after telling friends that she wants to make the Caribbean island her permanent home.

The 25-year-old singer now apparently sees herself as the ‘Angelina Jolie of St Lucia’ and wants to help poor and underprivileged children.

‘Amy is seriously thinking about adopting,’ says my source. ‘But she is aware it’s going to be incredibly difficult with her background.’

If Amy always wanted to be a mom, then she had better clean up her act and fast.  Moms don’t do drugs, go on binges or make public spectacles of herself.  If Amy has truly cleaned up, then she deserves a chance.  But if she hasn’t, I hope the people around her are smart enough to not let her try to adopt.  Do you think she deserves a child right now or should she wait a few months?
