Barack and Michelle Obama raked in an impressive $2.65 million in 2008. Although, usmagazine.com is quick to point out that most of that cash came from Barack’s books, Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope.

According to the magazine, the couple paid $855, 323 in federal taxes and $77,883 in state taxes. Although the Obama’s earned $26, 000 in returns, they applied the money to next year’s income taxes. The first family donated $172,050 to 37 charities, including $25,000 each to CARE, which fights global warming, and the United Negro College Fund.

On the flipside, Joe and Jill Biden are practically paupers, only raking in $270, 000 in 2008.
