Beyonce’s off-tune Today Show video from last November was recently leaked. Beyonce was a guest on the Today Show and sang the first single from her I Am..Sasha Fierce album, “If I Were A Boy” and did a pretty awful job according to the sound board mix released this morning.

While Beyonce‘s singing normally appears effortless and at least on tune, if you listen to this video carefully you’ll notice her voice cracking and struggling to find the right pitch. Meanwhile, the audience was played a pre-recording. Of course, Beyonce‘s proud papa Matthew Knowles says somebody doctored the mix and anyone who questions his daughter’s singing ability is an “idiot.”
Matthew told TMZ via The New York Daily News:
“At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability. That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered. If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce‘s vocal ability, they’ve gotta be an idiot.”
We think this is in fact Beyonce singing, and to her daddy: give it up. Everyone is entitled to an off day. We doubt this will bite into her record sales. Listen to the video here.
