Mel Gibson and his wife of nearly 30 years, Robyn Moore, have filed for divorce. The couple released the following statement: “Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.” The pair, both now 53, married on June 7, 1980, and have seven children Hannah, 28, twins Edward and Christian, 26, William, 24, Louis, 21, Milo, 19, and Thomas, 9. Last summer, while Gibson was in Boston, Mass., Fame Pictures captured exclusive images of Gibson, with a woman named Oksana. Fame photographers witnessed several key facts validating a romantic relationship between Gibson and this woman. As Gibson would arrive on set every morning at 6:30am, his personal car would return to the Ritz-Carlton and pick up Oksana at 9am. Each day, with discretion, Oksana would enter Mel’s trailer and stay for the rest of the day. When the actor’s standard one-hour lunchtime came, the pair would stay in the trailer for up to 2 hours together. All assistants and crew members coming to contact Gibson would knock on the trailer door before being allowed to enter. After one particularly long lunch together, Mel departed to the set and Oksana came out of his trailer to make a phone call. Her hair looked mussed and she seemed troubled as she talked on the phone. A few times, Gibson and Oksana walked to the set from the base camp, but Mel would always cross the street by himself and Oksana would wait a few minutes before following. Despite obvious evidence of Oksana’s presence, Gibson remained discreet about the two being seen together in public. Our photographers were able to document one particular interaction, where Oksana handed Mel a pill on their way back into the trailer. At the end of the day’s shoot, Gibson and Oksana would leave in the same car together and return to The Ritz-Carlton. Only once did Mel send Oksana to the hotel ahead of him. After filming broke for the weekend, Gibson and Oksana flew privately together on Gibson’s Signature plane and returned to LA. The two flew alone and there were no other friends or assistants on board. Gibson was later photographed near his family Malibu home on Saturday. While the actor claims to follow a strict moral and virtuous code based on his Catholic beliefs, he has always battled with his own demons that have tested the strength of his marriage. In direct contradiction to his current actions, the actor once said, “There’s nothing more important than your family… If you ruin that part of your life, what’s left? Work, money – screwing around? I see a lot of people living like that who tell themselves they’re having a good time but if you look under the surface you see lots of corpses masquerading as human beings.” He adds, “It’s my duty to be a good husband and father and that’s probably the only thing in life that I take seriously.” Could Mel’s alleged affair with Oksana have been the last straw for his wife?
