Sienna Miller’s Congo activist trip is puzzling. Sienna is in the Congo in part for a group called Take Part. They asked her to go on the trip and blog about her experience, while raising awareness on the problems the people of the Congo face. But some of Sienna’s blog reads like a vacation diary!
More pictures of Sienna after the jump…
Day 1 sounds like Sienna is enjoying a luxury hotel and waiting for room service. Day 2 seems like she is more hands on, but not quite grasping her situation. From her Take Part blog:
We get a security briefing before leaving the border: don’t go anywhere alone, be smart, body language is important, a smile goes a long way.. .and if we get a gun out in our faces, to remain calm and let Martin do the talking. The country feels so different to Rwanda… bustling markets, smoke, chickens and goats running freely, men and women holding hands, and I smile at the universal language of love.
Huh? This is a war torn country and she’s talking about language of love?
No doubt Sienna took this trip to help repair her tarnished image of a homewrecker. After the disastrous relationship with Jude Law and then Balthazar Getty, Sienna needs something to do away from married men. I guess visiting the Congo works, even if it’s under the cover of activism. We’ll keep monitoring the blogs and see if she does anything worthwhile.

This is a bit like you say damage control, if Miller had done this before the hassle and the affair with Getty I would have had some respect for her now a little too late.
Getty is seen with his children every couple of weeks ( not nice to use his kids for damage control) and Miller is in the Congo, their PR’s must have worked overtime on these two.
I am the cinematographer that was on this trip with Miss Miller. I am going to dispel all rumors and lay to rest any question in regard to her involvement and/or behavior.
Sienna Miller is the real deal. Trust me, I brought with me all the same preconceptions as I was racked with anticipation in my ability to tell this story. I learned that until you meet a person, until you know a person, you CANNOT believe what is written about them. People love to tear people down, for whatever reason.
Celebrate ones accomplishments, not their mistakes.
( sorry I had to chop off a lot of your comment – it won’t post otherwise, it’s too long – I still think you have a great point here so I would post the most important bit, hope you don’t mind)
SM told the whole world what type of person she was when she decided to publicly engage in PDA with a married man not once but over and over again; pranced around LA, NY, Italy, Mexico, Prague, and London with the married man as she was entitled to do so; whined about there being no sisterhood as she shamelessly flaunted her affair with another sister’s husband; whined about how there were “things in the press that were hard for her to deal with” despite the fact that there were photos of her allowing RG husband to suck her breast; and spread lies about RG to justify her actions with her husband. If SM was the real deal, she would have been “raising awareness” instead of publicly groping and vacationing in Italy with a married man.
The first step in breaking down rumors about SM is to acknowledge that she was and still is one of those people who love to tear down people, in particular married women and their children. Celebrate SM accomplishments? Other than publicly helping a married man betray and humilate his wife and 4 kids, what exactly has SM accomplished? If SM had really learned anything from “raising awareness”, she wouldn’t have for the umpteenth time tipped off the paps just so she can depict or portray herself as a victim. Why should SM receive more recognition than the men and women who spend months/years in the Congo, especially when they are there because they care as opposed to being there because all/every attempt to whitewash SM image/career failed?
And Mr Serota spend 1 week with Miller when she was on her best behaviour and now he knows all about her. It taskes month if not years to get to know somebody really well. Good Try Mr. SEROTA.
I just have to say that this is complete nonsense. She was not asked to go; she ASKED if she could go…and then refused to pay for anything. She may be a sweet person, David, but she’s not a GOOD person. There’s a huge difference to me…and, when it comes to Congo, one shouldn’t use it to further a career or repair reputation. This is a place in serious, serious trouble and having someone like Sienna “visit” makes is a joke. I’m embarrassed for her and for all who took part in this.
