I can express this opinion because I have trudged through every single page of all four books. My girlfriend absolutely loves the series, so I read the first novel because she promised literary gloriousness. I whole-heartedly disagree. The books are slightly entertaining at best, and overwhelmingly boring and retarded at worst. I could give a thousand reasons why Mrs. Meyers books are ridiculous, but I don't have nearly enough space here. Let's just say that she has ruined Vampire and Werewolf mythology and taken the average human female down to her lowest, most self deprecating proportions. Shame on you, S. Meyers, for taking all of womankind down a notch with your "heroine" who is a needy, selfish, clumsy, whining, soulless celery stick of a human being. The fact that these books were actually published doesn't disturb me nearly as much as the fact that so many people...especially females, are enamored with them.
