The premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine set for Wednesday in Mexico City has been canceled thanks the widespread of the Swine Flu. Mexico city remains paralyzed by the virus with over 100 people dead from the outbreak. Even our superhero, Hugh Jackman isn’t immune to the deadly epidemic.

A rep tells People magazine: “We were not only concerned about Hugh’s welfare – and we would never send anyone into harm’s way – but we also have an enormous office filled with people we care about,” “There was no point in proceeding under the current conditions.”

Hugh was the only cast member from the film who was expected to attend the Mexico City premiere. Whether the premiere will be rescheduled or not depends on the future developments of the current medical epidemic.
