Christina Ricci broke up with her fiance. Christina was engaged to a comedian named Owen Benjamin for close to one year. I guess Ricci didn’t think he was funny anymore…but neither rep has confirmed or denied the split.

Christina and Owen looked happy in these pictures. (Check out the guy with the afro behind them!) But what happened over the weekend? According to People Magazine:

“Owen had a birthday party this past Sunday, and everything seemed fine. Sometime after, they got into a fight and decided to reevaluate things. [Then] the engagement was off,” says a source close to the couple.

Another source close to the actress says the pair called off the engagement before last week. “They really are still close,” adds the source.

Let me guess, they didn’t want to spoil the party? Why do actors think that by fooling everyone in to thinking they are still a couple, it helps an event? Too bad for Christina, she seemed to be happy.
