Jackson was scheduled for his final world tour “This is It” in July.

Michael was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to a working class family; he was the seventh child of the nine children. Jackson was physically and mentally abused by his father enduring whippings, incessant rehearsals and name calling. Jackson first spoke openly about his childhood abuse during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1993.

Michael started his professional music career as a member of The Jackson 5 – The band was founded by the Jackson brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. The Jackson 5 began to perform in public in 1963.

Michael began his solo career in 1971 while still remaining as a member of the band. Michael’s dominant figure and influence in pop music earned him “The King of Pop” as he was always referred as over the years.

Michael Jackson will always be remembered. R.I.P.
