The Twilight franchise has just earned a new actress — Bryce Dallas Howard. Bryce will play Vampire Victoria in the third installment of the Twilight series. Bryce is the daughter of Happy Days-alum and director Ron Howard. You may remember Howard when she donned platinum blond hair in the Spiderman movies.

Rachelle Lefevre previously played Victoria, and while Twilight execs aren’t saying if she was fired or not (they’re using the old standby “scheduling conflicts”), they seem happy at Bryce‘s arrival (via People.com):
“Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life, and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character,”says Erik Feig, president of worldwide production and acquisitions for Summit Entertainment. “The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”
