Kate Gosselin buys a condo in Maryland. Kate bought a place where she can go when Jon Gosselin is with the kids. Jon is renting an expensive place in NYC while Kate manages to find something more reasonable in Rockville, Maryland.

Kate is definitely coming out as the smarter of the two people here. She isn’t man jumping, she isn’t taking trips with boyfriends. She bought a condo that is a short drive from her children when it is her weekend away. From Radar Online:
She’s buying a condo in Rockville, a wealthy part of Montgomery County.
Oh, by the way, bodyguard Steve Neild’s office is in Rockville–just a block away from Kate’s new place. All the easier to protect her!
Kate and Jon are splitting parenting duties while splitting up. When one stays at the Pennsylvania house where the kids will remain, the other takes off to their individual apartments.
It may be a wealthy part of the city, but it isn’t expensive like Jon’s is! Kate seems to be showing more parental sense right now and doing what’s best for the kids. Jon, not so much.

She isn’t man jumping because all the men who’ve watched her show are running in the opposite direction. What you are calling a “short drive” other sites are saying is 150+ miles away. You wouldn’t have a dog in this fight, would you?
