Madonna’s set collapses and kills two of her crew in France. The tragedy happened last evening while crews were using a crane to set up for her Sunday concert, which has now been canceled.Four cranes were being used to put Madonna’s massive stage together and one of them had a cable snap and tons of metal fell on to the workers below.

Reports are saying that nearly 50 people were treated either on the scene or at local hospitals. According to People Magazine, it was tragic and a lot of people were hurt:

Eight other people, some of them part of Madonna’s traveling Sticky and Sweet stage crew, remain hospitalized in serious condition, including an American, according to hospital officials.

Madonna released this statement:

“I am devastated to have just received this tragic news. My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news.”

That would be a terrible thing to happen while on tour. I wonder if Madonna’s tour will be halted because of the damage done to her stage.
