American Idol announced that regardless of Paula Abdul not returning, they’re still looking for a fourth judge. Earlier this week, Paula Abdul alerted the masses that she won’t be returning to the wildly popular show. Although no concrete reason has been cited, we reported (via The New York Times) that it was probably due to money issues. Namely, Paula isn’t getting enough.

At the time being, Eonline.com reports that a rotating panel of guest judges will fill the void until they find a permanent replacement. Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham have been rumored guest replacements.

A rep for the network said:

“We feel between now and [January] that we will come up with a solution and replacement for Paula. We are looking forward to the season. Obviously, there is going to be a different dynamic. We will be looking to bring a different element and different energy to the season.”
