Britney Spears is NOT performing at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night. Apparently, there has been some flip flopping over whether Britney should gyrate on stage in front of thousands of impressionable teens.

It seems that someone other than Britney’s camp got the final decision, because the announcement that she was performing was taken down from her website. Via the LA Times:
Apparently sometime between Wednesday night, when the announcement went out on her official website, and this afternoon, someone had a change of heart about Brit-Brit shaking her booty on stage at the Teen Choice Awards.
According to her site, she’s no longer going to perform at the awards show, which tapes Sunday night and airs on Fox on Monday night, but she will be appearing in the hopes of collecting awards in three categories: Choice music, single; Choice music, female artist; and Choice music, tour.
Kids, if you’re reading, you’ll get to see Britney in the crowd, but she won’t be on the stage. How many awards do you think she will win?
